Sukhbaatar Square is the central square of the capital city Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. In 2016, the city authorities changed the name from Grand Chinggis Khaan Square Square to Sukhbaatar Square. The center of the square features an equestrian statue of Damdin Sukhbaatar, one of the leaders of Mongolia's 1921 revolution. A statue of Chinggis Han is located in the center of the building and is flanked by Ogedei on the west and Kublai on the east. A peaceful anti-communism protest was held here in 1990. Today, the square is occasionally used for ceremonies, concerts, and festivals, but it is also a relaxed place where children drive toy cars and ride bikes.
